WHY ARE WE FAT?

Good question, right? And it seems that EVERYONE knows the answer. I'm an infomercial conniseur and it seems that the majority of them are weight loss based. A few of my favorites:

~Walk on an incliner - of course the 'mercial shows painfully toned and thin people gingerly and perspirationlessly walking on a slight incline. Amazingly, doing this made them thin!

~Dance your way to fitness - I've seen them on every form of dance and shamefully, even pole dancing workouts. Once again, the impression is that all these people had to do was to dance or swing from a pole and voila! THINNESS!

~Hardcore workouts that promise incredible results in 60 or 90 days. There are a couple that are competing with each other and it's kind of fun to watch. At least with these, you actually see participants sweating, sucking wind and redfaced while they work out. These 'mericals tease you with taunts of, "not for the faint of heart" and such.

~Then there is the miscellaneous equipment sales: balls, swerve machines, strange machines, machines that pull your body weight, weights that vibrate, wearable ab toners, all touting that adherence to them and their "program" will give you results like their testimonials.

So........since we have all these incredible resources and "expertise" AND are one of the wealthiest nations in the world, WHY ARE WE FAT?

I've got some definite opinions, but I'm going to simmer on this a bit and come back. Just food for thought right now.
